Kulanu, a Hebrew word when translated means “all of us”, aptly describes our mission to provide a wide range of educational, social and advocacy services to children and young adults with special needs and their families in the most inclusive environment possible. Our goal is to enable each individual, regardless of religion, race or creed to reach his or her full potential, empowering them to become a participating and accepted member of society with a good quality of life and a hopeful future.
Camp Discovery, one of Kulanu’s specialized programs for individuals with disabilities, allows youngsters 5 years and older to have the same experiences as a "typical" child.
At Camp Discovery, our campers can have their multiple therapies and still have time to swim, play sports or create giant lego structures. With their 1:1 support aides, they can master life skills and enjoy a summer of fun.
This year, over half of the applications received for Camp Discovery requested financial aid. Sadly, families are struggling with medical bills and the daily challenges of supporting a child , or in some cases two, with a disability.
Affording a unique and individualized program is not only desired, but needed…and many parents are desperate.
