Poem by Parents of a child
Who went on the Ohr Meir Orlando trip:
As we go about our daily routine, day after day,We still can‘t believe that Sammy has passed away!
He was a pillar of strength, a heart of gold,
He had very broad shoulders, everyone's burdens he would hold.
In times of need, he was everyone’s brother,
He always looked out, to help another.
Sammy met Moshe Dovid on the Ohr Meir trip, they had a blast,
That was the beginning of a friendship that till the end did last.
Sammy didn’t need accolades, Shiny plaques or huge parades
To spur him on to help a cause, amidst a round of loud applause.
He was from those precious few, in a quiet way he would find things to do.
Moshe Dovid always knew, on any given day,
Sammy was only a phone call away.
“Can you please take me bowling, or out for a ride”,
In a moment’s notice, Sammy would be outside.
He took him to his office kept him busy for a while,
Anything to make another person smile.
When to North Carolina for surgery, we had to venture,
Sammy drove down to be with us, he made it into an exciting adventure.
All year long—for the Ohr Meir trip Moshe Dovid couldn’t wait,
So he could spend time with Sammy for four days straight!!
Now I am sure they are spending time together in good cheer,
Pulling strings upstairs, for us in the world down here.
And since they were both adept at knowing how to get things done,
Asking for Moshiach to come—will be on their list as job number 1.
As we both miss our children—and we miss them tons,
We look forward to the coming of Moshiach, so we can be reunited with
our precious sons.
